What We Believe

At Hope Ignite Church, we stand firmly on the foundation of Biblical truth. Our faith is centered on the transformative power of Jesus Christ and the infallible Word of God.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word, written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is truth without error and is completely relevant to our daily lives.

Deuteronomy 4:1-2 Psalm 119:11, 89, 105 Isaiah 40:8 Matthew 22:29 John 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17 Romans 15:4 2 Timothy 3:15-17 Hebrews 1:1-2; 4:12 1 Peter 1:25 2 Peter 3:16

The Trinity

We believe in one true God who is the eternal King, Creator, and Redeemer of all that exists. He is perfectly holy, just, loving, and truthful. He has revealed Himself as one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each fully and equally God, yet serving unique roles in perfect unity.

Deuteronomy 6:4 Isaiah 61:1 Matthew 28:19 Mark 1:9-11 Luke 1:35 John 5:21-23; 14:10, 16 Romans 8:9-11 1 Corinthians 8:6 2 Corinthians 13:14 Hebrews 1:8-10 James 2:19

The Father
God is infinitely powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, and unchanging in His perfection. He is completely trustworthy, utterly holy, and beyond compare. In Him, we find our being, our purpose, and our every breath. He is the source of all goodness, the embodiment of love, and the faithful Father who draws near to His people with compassion and unwavering kindness. His promises are sure, and His heart is for His children, inviting us to live in the fullness of His presence and grace.

The Son

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s one and only Son, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and was empowered by the Holy Spirit to inaugurate God’s kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected, and ascended into heaven. He is now alive, seated at the right hand of the Father, and present among His people. He is both fully God and fully human.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit assures believers of their relationship with Christ, guiding them into all truth and exalting Jesus. He convicts hearts of sin, reveals God’s righteousness, and warns of coming judgment. The Holy Spirit regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and adopts us into God’s family as His sons and daughters, enabling us to live holy lives and reflect Christ. Through His indwelling presence, He comforts, equips with spiritual gifts, and empowers supernatural ministry. The baptism of the Holy Spirit, as described in Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4, grants believers God’s power to boldly witness and advance His kingdom.

The Eternity

We believe heaven and hell are real. At the end of time, there will be a resurrection: the saved to eternal life and the lost to eternal separation from God. Heaven is the eternal home of those who trust in Jesus, while hell is a place of eternal judgment for those who reject Him.

Man

Humankind was created in the image of God as the supreme object of His creation, uniquely designed to know, enjoy, and fellowship with Him. However, through willful disobedience, we rejected His Lordship and glory, leading to separation from God. As a result, sin brought sickness, death, and judgment into the world, and all creation bears its consequences. Despite this, every human being is uniquely created, possesses inherent dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love. On our own, we cannot restore a right relationship with God—it is only through His grace that reconciliation is possible.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift from God, given by His grace and received through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. By repenting, believing, and confessing Jesus as Lord, we are restored to fellowship with God. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and adopts us into God’s family as His sons and daughters.

We believe in the victorious and redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross, which provides freedom from the power of sin, lies, sickness, and torment.

Baptism in Water

The ordinance of baptism by full immersion in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit is commanded in the Scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. Thus, they declare to the world that they died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.

(Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4)

Spiritual Gifts

We believe that the Holy Spirit distribute spiritual gifts to every believer as He will, empowering them to serve, edify the Church, and advance the Gospel. These gifts, which differ according to the grace given to us, includes prophecy, healing, teaching, and leadership, are to be exercised in love. As members of the Body of Christ we should work together using the manifestation of the Spirit through those different gifts for the common good and in alignment with God’s Word. Divine healing is a core aspect of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is made available through the atonement and is a privilege granted to every believer.

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, consisting of all who put their faith in Jesus. It is called to continue His ministry, proclaim the Gospel, and disciple all nations. The Church observes the ordinances of baptism and communion as commanded by Jesus.

We believe in the ever-increasing government of God and the Blessed Hope—the glorious return of Jesus Christ to rule and reign with His Church.

Marriage
We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant, instituted by God, between one man and one woman. It reflects Christ’s love for the Church and is designed to be a lifelong union that fosters intimacy, mutual support, and godly offspring.

The Fivefold Ministry

Our Lord, during His earthly ministry, exemplified the perfect model of ministry and established a divinely ordained, scripturally mandated mission with a threefold purpose: Evangelism (Mark 16:15-20), to proclaim the Gospel and bring salvation to the nations; Worship (John 4:23-24), to foster true and spiritual worship of God; and Edification (Ephesians 4:11), to build up a body of saints for sanctification, being perfected in the image of His Son. This ministry includes Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers, who are called to equip, strengthen, unite in faith, impart knowledge, and help believers grow and mature matching the fullness of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16).
